Privacy Policy
Yabe Webfont plugin:
The font I use is from Google Fonts, the default font directory included with my theme (and with many others, as I discovered). A court in Germany found that Google Fonts violates the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), because in order for the font to be visible to the user of a website, the site must communicate with Google’s server, which collects the user’s IP address. So to make the use of Google fonts compliant with the GDPR, developers have created plugins that solve this problem. I use a plugin called Yabe Webfont that allows me to install the font on my server. That way, my website does not have to communicate with Google, and Google does not collect your IP address.
LiteSpeed Cache provided this information:
This site utilizes caching in order to facilitate a faster response time and better user experience. Caching potentially stores a duplicate copy of every web page that is on display on this site. All cache files are temporary, and are never accessed by any third party, except as necessary to obtain technical support from the cache plugin vendor. Cache files expire on a schedule set by the site administrator, but may easily be purged by the administrator before their natural expiration, if necessary. We may use QUIC.cloud services to process and cache your data temporarily.
Please see https://quic.cloud/privacy-policy/ for more details.
>> Wordwork.ing does use LiteSpeed Cache, but does not use the optional QUIC.cloud services offered by LiteSpeed Cache.
WordPress provides suggested text for a website’s general privacy policy. I have copied it here, noting what does and does not apply to my site. (I have also edited the English here and there for grammar, punctuation, spelling, and wording—can’t help myself.)

Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, as well as the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help detect spam.
An anonymized string created from your e-mail address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see whether you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
>> Wordwork.ing does not use a comments feature or the Gravatar service, so this does not apply.
Media
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
>> Wordwork.ing does not currently use any images, nor is there any way for visitors to upload or download images, so this does not apply.
Cookies
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt in to saving your name, e-mail address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me,” your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after one day.
>> Wordwork.ing does not use a comments feature, does not ask visitors to log in, and does not provide the means for visitors to publish or edit articles, so this does not apply.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g., videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in exactly the same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
>> Wordwork.ing does not currently include any embedded images, videos, or content from other websites, so this does not apply.
Whom we share your data with
If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset e-mail.
>> Wordwork.ing does not ask visitors to register and log in, so this does not apply.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users who register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (but cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
>> Wordwork.ing does not use a comments feature and does not collect related data or a visitor’s personal information, so this does not apply.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you may request an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You may also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
